Christmas Time

I thought I would have a hard time keeping Miles away from the Christmas decorations and especially presents, but he has been so good. Only once did he whine about opening presents. He's going to be a lot of fun this Christmas. This will be (keep my fingers crossed) the first Christmas where he isn't crying the entire day. His first Christmas was a nightmare battling colic. Last Christmas, he had a terrible cold. Finally, we should see a smiling Miles opening gifts on his own. We are looking forward to it!
Miles has become quite particular about music these days. In the car, I now hear, "Mommy! different music." And if I don't react fast enough he says it again only much louder. It feels really strange being yelled at by a two year old. Luckily, his taste in music isn't that far off from mine. His favorite Christmas song is Jingle Bells but he is even particular about the way I sing it. It has to be just so or I hear, "No, Mommy!" I think I'm being paid back by the flying spaghetti monster for all the trouble I put my parents through.
I've been working so much that we haven't had a chance to take Miles to see Santa yet. Hopefully, this weekend we'll get to see his reaction to the thought of sitting on some fat old man's lap with poor taste in clothes that has a white beard that is long overdue for a trim. I doubt he'll want anything to do with him.
