Awesome weekend!

Jason and I couldn't have been more proud and happy this weekend. Miles did 2 big boy things we've been waiting impatiently for. First, he learned (and enjoys!) drawing! We were sitting at Cheeburger Cheeburger when Miles asked Jason how to draw planes and helicopters. Jason shows him, and BAM! Miles is drawing. Now, that's all he draws, but it's a start!

The second thing that Miles did is went sledding, and he actually enjoyed it!

Look! He's going down the hill by himself.

AND, he's carrying the sled back up the hill by himself!

Detroit Auto Show 2011

I think the Detroit Auto Show has become an annual event for us. The boys, Jason included, seem to really enjoy it.
Here's Gavin driving.

And now it's Miles' turn

OMG!!! Miles two favorite things combined into one delicious eye candy-an auto plane! And not just any plane. It's a Delta, the same plane he recently flew on. I think to his little 5 year old brain, it doesn't get any better than this!

Up, Up and Away...

We flew to South Carolina over New Years to see GM and GP (Jason's dad and stepmom). It was the boys first plane ride. We weren't sure how Miles would react. He's a bit of a weeny when it comes to new experiences, and he frightens easily. (He's a bit scared of Curious George still to this day.) But, he LOVED it! He surprised me at take off by giggling. I expected screaming, a few tears, and an "I HATE this!" But, it turned out to be a lot of fun. Now riding the escalator down in Atlanta was another story. He was NOT thrilled about that!

Gavin was another matter. On the way there, he did pretty good. He was squirmy and wanted to move while everyone piled aboard, but once we had lift off, he fell asleep. But, one of the flights on the way home was no fun for us, including the poor souls sitting in ear piercing screaming distance. If we only hadn't had a 30 minute delay. Once we got moving, he fell asleep and all was well.
Miles now LOVES planes. It's his newest obsession. He wants to be a pilot or an air traffic controller like his Papaw.
