Jason has signed up for 2 triathlons this year. The first one was in Newcastle, IN. It's the shorter of the two.

I like watching all those swimmers out there thrashing around. It looks like they're all trying to fight for the same space. Jason is one of the ones in the left front, not that anyone could tell. They all wear the same color of caps.

He did an awesome job swimming. They had to swim 1/2 a mile. He was 5th out of the water! There were two waves. He was in the first which was for the competitive swimmers. I think coming in 5th out of hundreds of swimmers is pretty cool.

Here he is on his bike heading for the mountain bike trail. It was about 10 miles long. Having a real mountain bike this year helped his time a lot- that and he didn't get made fun of. hee hee

He did a good job. We're very proud of him and his hard work.

His next triathlon is on Aug. 24th near Muskegon, Michigan.

Over the Fourth of July, we went to South Carolina to visit with GP (Jason's dad) and GM (Jason's step mom). We had a blast! The whole gang was there - that's 12 of us breaking in GP and GM's brand new beautiful home. We enjoyed swimming, boating, tubing, kayaking, and each other's company. We look forward to going back many times.

Miles liked the boat rides as long as it didn't go too fast. He did much better than we expected. He's not the most ambitious and care free kind of kid.
